just to annoy Mary

Ok, this isn't really just to annoy Mary. I wish I could have gotten the web to show up a little better. Mary tried very hard to get this shot, and I was able to pull it off. I think if I had set up a tripod, and gotten a longer exposure, I might have been able to make the web show up better. If there was the slightest breeze that wouldn't work though.

I wonder what it would look like croped? or edited at all for that matter. I'll see if I can't find time to mess with that tomorrow.

Gardening

I'm getting a little tired of all the flower pictures on here, but it's what I've been shooting. I need to go out for some more night shooting soon.

This is a shot I got this morning while I was gardening in over the rhine. I think I'm going to like this deal. I do a little gardening, and get fresh greens. rock out.

Smoke and Mirrors

Well, that's half right. Last night I started playing with a "soft box" I'm trying to make, and ended up just taking pictures of smoke for about an hour.... some interesting results.

I was playing down at fountain square last thursday. (thanks Mary, Using your camera helps keep me sane.)

Anyway, thought this pic was cool. I want to go back sometime with a tripod so I can frame the shots better. I had to steady the camera on a wall to get the few shots I did.... Kind of limits the ability to frame a shot.

A few business card ideas I was working on today.

On a side note. My lovely girlfriend makes her debut on the blog in card number 3. oh, there are 2 more cards comming in the post following this one... which becasue it's a blog means they'll be above it. yay for picasa not uploading more than 4 shots.

Furry Animals, and the winner of the free print

To pick the winner of the free print I wrote each entrant's name on an identical piece of paper and dropped them on the floor. The odd one was the winner. Joe Adams landed up, Chris Chambers landed down, and Kjell Landed down. You guys should thank Mary for taking herself out of the running. She said she already had her fav. pic, and honestly... all she has to do to get any shot she likes is ask, and perhaps cover the cost if I'm really really poor.

Congrats dad..... Kjell, I was really tempted to rig the contest cause you're the only person who entered that I don't know offline, but I thought that'd be unfair to everyone else. I'd still love to swap prints with ya.

One Year Aniversary

I just realized that the one year anniversary of this blog is in 2 days. I thought I'd missed it. I thought it was later in the year when I started this blog. I think it celebration of 1 year I'll give away a print, just for fun. If you're interested in being the winner reply to this post, and you can pick any shot posted on the blog, and I'll print you up a copy.

Day 1

I'm offically calling yesterday Day 1. I went out to the woods with Mary, and took a ton of pictures. these 2 are a couple of the more fun ones. i really think I found a groove there at the end. Both of these shots are strait from the camera. I havn't touched a thing.

SoFoBoMo

I've been thinking about this project for the last few weeks... hell, at this point, Months. Anyway, I keep getting drawn toward wanting to do something on nature, flowers or something like that. My recently aquired girlfriend is fairly active in trying to preserve a lot of the green space around cincinnati. I'm thinking this might be a good use for this project. I can help her out, by putting together a book that will help her show how great these spaces are. (I might also get her to let me use her camera a little bit. lol. I'm not w/o ulterior motives. )

Anyway, tonight I'm going to be walking some of this property with her. we'll both have our cameras with us. I'm thinking I might see if she wants to join in on the project... dual authorship is allowed, right?

Her friend Heather might be helpful in providing a bit of text as well. I wonder what kind of history I can dig up on this location?

Ok, I'm starting to delve into internal dialogs. Time to get some work done.
