Fireball

Saturday night I went to a party at my friend Steve's place. This guy Charlie brought some everclear just so he could blow fire. (I think it's something he does alot.) I got a couple of pics of it, and this is the better of the 2. I got his phone number so hopefully we can hook up for a shoot sometime. I have alot of ideas that I want to try to get a more interesting shot....

I really like the way this turned out, but I had to crop it quite a bit. I'm afriad it might not print larger than a 5x7 and look good.

Hydrant Series

I took some quick shots a couple of nights ago in hopes of getting something that shows the amount of show we got here. I am an idiot, and forgot to reset my iso to a number that works in the low light levels I was working in. I did however get this image, which I think will work nicely in my fire hydrant series... I dont' think you'd want to print it too large though.

I'm still not brave enough to venture outside for a shot, so the coby gets tortured more. I think I really need to start expanding my style a bit. Too many shots of the puppy this winter. I think Winter is a big part of my problem right now. Kjell Harald of Lentic Photography noted earlier today that he went out on a shoot with the sole purpose of getting one good shot for his blog. This is inspiring. I have tuesday morning off, and I think I'm going to walk down montgomery and see what I can get.

Macro lens filters

Couple of retakes of the last post. I got some macro lens filters in the mail today. Tons of fun, and a new challenge. I'm a fan of these. They add alot of new options to my shooting.

The only thing that keeps this tree from being a vicious beast is his rabies shot. One simple shot, and he's cuddly as a kitten.

I'm so frustrated w/ the results I've gotten since getting my camera back. I haven't been out shooting nearly enough, and when I have been out, this is the best I've gotten.

On an up note, I do have a few pics for the fire hydrant series I've been thinking about for a long time.

Light Pole

I've been staring at this light pole since 2 weeks after my camera bit the dust. It's a hard lesson in over thinking something. Now that I can finally shoot it, I've spent so much time thinking about it, nothing I capture seems worth the time I've spent on it. arg!!

A Strange Object.

My Camera feels a little strange in my hands with so much time off. I've been avoiding going outside to shoot because it's cold. So, I've resorted to what I always do when I can't leave... I shoot coby... Poor dog is half blind at this point from all the flashes going off. I don't know why, but I really like this shot. it's out of fucus, partially because that stupid chain got in the way, but I think it makes coby happy. He's taunting me at this point......

I'm back, Baby!

To all my loyal fans... of which I'm pretty sure there are none. I'm finally back. I picked up my camera from the shop yesterday between jobs. Expect posts to resume later this week.
